Law Student Intern for Global Mobility team

We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Law Student to join our Global Mobility Team at the Lysaker Office in Norway. The internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legal aspect of global mobility. You will be working with colleagues from all over the world and be a key player in ensuring success for global mobility processes in Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

The working hours will be 1 day a week (8 hours weekly) with the possibility of extending the working hours.

Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Legal Assessment, Compliance and Advisory:
    • Conduct assessments to ensure compliance with local, national and international tax laws as they pertain to international assignment contracts.
    • Research and analyze regulations impacting employee mobility, including immigration, labor laws, and tax obligations.
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with local, national and international tax law and employer obligations related to international assignments.
    • Assist in providing guidance to assignees on international assignments and involved stakeholders on global mobility policies and procedures.
  • Contract Preparation:
    • Assist in drafting, reviewing and preparing international assignment contracts and related addendums.
    • Ensure all contract documents are accurate, complete, and in compliance with relevant legal standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Group Tax, Transfer Pricing, Local HR, Accounting, Payroll and external advisors to facilitate seamless global mobility operations.
    • Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of global mobility strategies.
  • Administrative Support
    • Provide general administrative support and handling routine tasks to the Global Mobility function as needed.
    • Assist with collecting relevant data in light of assignment contracts from third party platforms/tools, such as compensation data from Mercer.
    • Contribute to special projects related to global mobility, such as policy updates, international assignment programs and process improvements.

Job Requirements

Key skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Law
  • Strong interest and background knowledge of international taxation, employment law, and compliance is an advantage.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

  • Our office is located in Lysaker, Strandveien 20. The office is conveniently close to all public transport. Physical presence at the office is required.
  • Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension.
  • Working language is English.
