Legal (LEG) is the competence unit for all legal matters related to the Equinor group’s business areas and corporate activities and consist of legal experts, specialists, consultants and qualified support personnel. The department has overall responsibility for advising on all legal matters and on ethics and anti-corruption compliance and acting as the Corporate Bodies’ secretariat within the Equinor group.

By joining our team in Legal you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide legal advice on asset and corporate transactions (M&A) worldwide, in the areas of oil and gas, renewable energy and venture capital; including advising on transaction structures and drafting and negotiating transaction documents, such as sales and purchase agreements and shareholder agreements / joint operating agreements.
  • Coordinate and manage legal advice from other teams in Equinor Legal on M&A.
  • Provide legal advice to Equinor management and decision makers.
  • Be responsible for engagement with partners, relevant authorities and industry bodies.

For this position, we are also looking for:

  • More than 5 years of relevant experience from a recognized law firm or from working in an in-house legal role.
  • Extensive experience and competence in transactions in the areas of oil & gas, renewable energy and/or venture capital.

  • In-depth experience in legal aspects associated with business development, transactions and joint ventures.

  • Competence within the area of compliance and anti-corruption.

  • An international mindset and good collaboration skills.

  • Excellent writing skills, as well as effective verbal communication and influencing skills.

  • A professional level of English, both spoken and written.

  • Master of law or Cand. Jur. with high academic achievement - please include copies of your education transcripts with your application.
