Legal (LEG) is the competence unit for all legal matters related to Equinor groups business areas and corporate activities, and consists of legal experts, specialists, consultants and qualified support personnel. The department has overall responsibility for advising on all legal matters and on ethics and compliance, and acting as the Corporate Bodies’ secretariat within the Equinor group.

In this role you will be joining a large and highly skilled legal compliance team and you will have the opportunity to:

  • Advise and support the global business on corruption and money laundering risk.
  • Deliver training and workshops to management, employees and business partners.
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on compliance matters in commercial agreements.
  • Engage in the broader compliance network and the implementation of our compliance programmes.
  • Support a continuous improvement of Equinor’s compliance programmes and internal policies, procedures, templates and training.
  • Occasionally take part in internal investigations.

For this position, we are also looking for:

  • A Masters of Law.
  • Knowledge of Norwegian and international anti-corruption and anti-money laundering laws or experience with giving legal advice in corporate transactions.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in-house, in a leading law firm with international clients, or other relevant private or public practice experience.
  • The ability to combine compliance competence with a broader business understanding and prioritise based on risk and business need.
  • The ability to take initiative and deliver projects from concept to conclusion.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with a professional level of English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience developing and implementing compliance programmes - beneficial, not essential.
  • Experience with business development processes and projects - beneficial, not essential.
  • Experience in risk management and assurance processes - beneficial, not essential.
  • Experience from working with complex cases under time pressure – beneficial, not essential.
  • Experience from in the energy sector - beneficial, not essential.
