We are now looking for a Construction Attorney to join our international, highly skilled organization in Oslo. You will be joining a highly competent team experiencing significant growth in a niche market. The position is based in Oslo, with some travel required to other locations in Norway and the Nordics.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements, notices and legal documents. Ensuring that all contracts align with the organization's policies and relevant contracting standards (e.g. NS 8407, NS 8415/8415, FIDIC, etc.).
  • Be part of a team negotiating these contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Assist in resolving disputes and coordinating with external legal advisors.
  • Contribute to the further development of the company’s compliance routines, procedures, and policies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external legal counsel, regulatory agencies, and other relevant parties as necessary to address legal matters and ensure the organization's interests are both represented and protected.
  • Assist in the preparation of relevant reporting and documentation internally, and externally for Norwegian and other Nordic authorities. (e.g. Transparency Act, CSRD, GDPR, Annual Reports, etc.).
  • General legal advice and support to the company’s different departments and project teams.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits.

Qualifications

  • Norwegian Master of Law degree and Norwegian lawyer’s license.
  • 3–5+ years of experience within construction law and contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of NS standards (8407, 8415, 8417) and preferably FIDIC.
  • Experience from a law firm or in-house legal role.
  • Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English.
  • Business-oriented, pragmatic, proactive, and solution-driven.
  • Ability to work legally in Norway.
  • Driver’s license may be required.

Required Skills

  • Experience in construction law within the Nordics.
  • Solid knowledge of Norwegian contract law.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, corporate compliance, construction law, and related legal matters.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Norwegian.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Nordic Standards (NS 8407, NS 8415, NS 8417).
  • Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts.
  • Additional experience in procurement, employment/labor law, insurance, or intellectual property.
