The position

Legal (LEG) is the competence unit for all legal matters related to the Equinor group’s business areas and corporate activities and consist of legal experts, specialists, consultants and qualified support personnel. The department has overall responsibility for advising on all legal matters and on ethics and anti-corruption compliance, undertaking Integrity Due Diligence research and acting as the Corporate Bodies’ secretariat within the Equinor group.

By joining our team in Legal you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with a team of highly skilled lawyers within a wide range of employment law issues, such as disciplinary and sick leave cases, whistle-blowing, internal investigations, working time, collective agreements, secondments, managerial prerogative, pension, reward, country entry and exits etc.

  • Be a trusted adviser to the business and deliver strategic legal advice that can be applied in a complex organisation.

  • Support HR in reorganizations and other high-level projects.

  • Organise, support and take the lead in litigation handled by external counsel.

For this position, we are also looking for:

  • A Norwegian Master of Law (LLM), with strong academic results.

  • Minimum of 3 years of practice within an employment law firm or another relevant organisation.

  • A forward leaning employment lawyer who enjoys taking on new and unfamiliar tasks.

  • An ability to understand and support the business, often within short deadlines and with several tasks in parallel.

  • Proactive, engaged and comfortable with independent case handling, without support from a manager/partner.

  • Professional level of English language, both written and verbal.

  • A license to practice law would be beneficial but is not essential.
