Legal (LEG) is the competence unit for all legal matters related to the Equinor group’s business areas and corporate activities and consist of legal experts, specialists, consultants and qualified support personnel. The department has overall responsibility for advising on all legal matters and on ethics and anti-corruption compliance, undertaking Integrity Due Diligence research and acting as the Corporate Bodies’ secretariat within the Equinor group.

By joining our team in Legal you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide legal advice on competition and antitrust law to Equinor’s businesses worldwide.

  • Be responsible for merger filings in Equinor’s M&A transactions.
  • Participate in integrity due diligence processes, business development processes and contract negotiations to address and mitigate competition and antitrust compliance risks.
  • Liaise and consult with personnel on all levels across the organisation to identify competition and antitrust compliance risks and provide robust and practical guidance and advice on how to mitigate such risks in Equinor’s assets and operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and strengthening of Equinor’s Competition & Antitrust Compliance Program and internal policies, procedures and templates.
  • Provide training and workshops on competition and antitrust compliance to Equinor’s management and employees worldwide.

For this position, we are also looking for:

  • A Master of Laws (LLM) with strong academic qualifications, and preferably a specialisation in competition law.
  • Approximately 3-7 years relevant experience; preferably from working within leading law firms, consulting companies, public prosecution or administration, or from within an in-house legal team.
  • Considerable knowledge and interest in competition and antitrust legislation and case-law, in particular the EU competition rules and Norwegian competition law.
  • Experience from providing legal advice on competition and antitrust law, and/or merger filings and/or developing competition & antitrust compliance programs.
  • Knowledge in other relevant laws including general EU/EEA rules, US antitrust laws, trade law, procurement law, criminal law, state aid, corporate law and corporate governance requirements would be an advantage.
  • A professional level of English both verbal and written is required; Norwegian or another Scandinavian language would be beneficial.
